Attorney Bios

George V. Welty lives in Ligonier with his wife, Susan.  George grew up in Ligonier and graduated from Ligonier High School.  After graduating from Bucknell University and Duquesne University School of Law he was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1976.  George was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1988.  George is a member of the Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations.  George was a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 and served in Vietnam. 

George is the Chairman of the Board of Commercial National Financial Corporation (the holding company of Commercial Bank & Trust of PA which is ranked the strongest bank in Pennsylvania).  George is the Solicitor for Ligonier Borough and has served as solicitor for Fairfield Township, Ligonier Township Municipal Authority, and Ligonier Municipal Authority.

George is local counsel for Richard K. Mellon & Sons, Laurel Valley Golf Club, Rolling Rock Farms, Rolling Rock Club, Ligonier Country Club, and Glenn Cook Real Estate.  George is a title insurance agent for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.

Douglas J. Welty lives in Ligonier with his wife, Jennifer.  Douglas grew up in Ligonier and graduated from Ligonier High School.  After graduating from Bucknell University and Widener University School of Law, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2008.  Douglas is a member of the Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations.

Douglas serves as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Ligonier Valley YMCA and serves on the Board of Governors of the Ligonier Valley Endowment.  Douglas is an Elder of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Ligonier, PA, a member of the Rotary Club of Ligonier and Ligonier Lodge #331 F.&A.M.

Douglas is the Solicitor for Cook Township.  Some of his clients include Valley School of Ligonier , DIVIUM, and The Village at Ligonier Condominium Association.

Douglas practices in the areas of Oil & Gas Law, Estate Planning, Decedent's Estate Administration, Business and Corporation Law, Real Estate, and PA Liquor License Transfers.
